Kingdom of Heaven
Chapter 1
"Open the gate!!!" we heard a shout above us. We looked up. There was a soldier standing up high. He was smiling and waving at us, welcoming us, of course. The great gate opened and we marched into Eagleton, our home.
The knights were happy to be home. We were all exhausted. The battle was vicious. We even lost some of our best men in the battlefield. However, we came back with victory. We won! Eagleton won!
I was happy and relieved. It was so good to be home. I missed my family, my father, especially. As a Prince of Eagleton , someday the thrown will be mine and I will rule this Kingdom, just like my father. I promised I will follow my father's footsteps, handle everything wisely with justice.
We heard the sound of trumpets then followed by the drums. Ah, it's the King, it's my father. I nudged my horse gently and marched towards to castle. Everyone did the same thing too, the knights with their horses, villagers, ladies and children ran out from their cottages. They made way for us to marched towards the castle majestically. Then, everyone bowed when the King came out from the castle and bowed to the crowd.
"My children, let us welcome the bravest knights of our Kingdom led by our General Lokeraus!" the crowd burst into cheers and applauses.
We, the knights, were very happy and waved back to the crowd. General Lokeraus, our leader, still sat on his big brown horse showed no expression in his face. However, all we saw is the leadership, courage and power in him. He was a great leader. Without him, Eagleton would not win all these battles.
"Special thanks to the General. And also, my dear son, Leonardo El Condor, who did a great job assisting the General. I am proud of you, my son, and all my men. Without all of you, we, Eagleton, shall never stand up high!" The crowd cheered and applauded again.
"Tonight, we shall celebrate our victory at this great hall! Everyone is invited!!" Then the King dismissed us. I rode my horse to the stable. He name was Spirit, a big mighty black horse. He was once a stallion leader, and after that he served me and became my best friend. I removed the heavy saddle on his back. He looked exhausted too. He dropped his jaw immediately on the tank and gulped a mouthful of water. I looked at him quietly and smiled.
"There, there, boy. Thanks for being a good sport," I whispered while stroking gently on his black mane. "I really love the way you kicked that soldier," I chuckled and remembered how he lift his hind legs up high and tossed that man far away and broke his bones.
He neighed a little, I guessed he was laughing too. I patted him gently, "Get some rest, Spirit."
